Robert Garner is professor of political theory at the University of Leicester in the UK. Garner specializes in animal rights, focusing on animal protectionism and the political representation of non-human interests in general. He is the author of a number of books in the area, including The Animal Rights Debate: Abolition or Regulation? (2010, with Gary Francione), Animal Ethics (2005), and Animals, Politics and Morality (2004).[1]

Garner obtained his BA from the University of Salford, and his MA and PhD from the University of Manchester.[1]
